3740 Personal Make A Difference Pledges have now been received

Dementia Carer Voices began its flagship ‘You Can Make a Difference’ campaign in February of last year, which has gone from strength to strength. The campaign calls upon health and social care professionals to reflect on the lived experience of people affected by dementia, and identify key messages or actions from their stories that they can take away and apply to their everyday practice to improve outcomes for people living with dementia and their carers.
The campaign has had an extensive outreach programme, engaging with an estimated 20,000 people over the course of 230 talks since February 2014. As the campaign continues this year, this total is set to increase throughout 2015.

Hi,

Thank you from my heart OVER 3700   ,People have now made a personal pledge - commitment to Make A Difference  for people living with Dementia ,families and carers

I have had the great privilege to meet so many amazing, caring, inspiring people IN PERSON on my tour across the country on twitter via our Dementia Carer voices Blog and my own TommyOnTour blog.

We are still on our  ‘Make A Difference ‘ campaign and tour engaging with Health and Social Care Professionals and Students, with  85  talks confirmed as of today  for this year and OVER  3,500 personal pledges. To make a difference

We are very inspired by the pledges, the different ways Hospital Boards, Universities and Individuals are taking the pledges forward and embedding them into practice with great desire from all to make a difference.

I have been overwhelmed by the kindness of people and have had many emotional journeys home late at night from talks thinking back to all that happened each day; the people I have met,the pledges that have been made , the stories I have heard and the great initiatives so many people have shared.
