Tommy

Following the success of 6Csy we have decided to put another event to make sure we don’t lose the momentum. Apart of being a Care Maker one of my other voluntary roles is to try to coordinate NHS Change Day in East Midlands.
NHS Change Day is our opportunity to come together and harness our collective energy, creativity and ideas to make a change. Together each of our small actions will make a big difference in improving the care and wellbeing of those who use the NHS.
The NHS is you and the 1.2 million people like you. We’re all passionate about helping people.
If each of us makes one small change, together we can change how the world works.
In the frustrating moments when we see that things aren’t happening in the best way, we can start on the small change actions that — in time, and with the help of others — overcome the things that were getting in our way.
On Wednesday 11 March we will light up the country with everyone’s actions. Local activities will take place to recognize the positive changes that have resulted due to the actions people have taken. Visit the NHS Change Day website at www.changeday.nhs.uk to find out more.
Apart of individuals pledges NHS Change Day supports campaigns to raise awareness and promote good practice. A clear example is the #HelloMyNameIs Campaign last year. In 2015 NHS Change Day supports various campaigns again and we have decided that we will like to bring some of them to East Midlands. This year the East Midlands Central event will raise awareness of two of the main issues that NHS is facing at present: Dementia and Pressure Ulcers.
The event will take place at the University of Derby from 12h until 19h. You can book a place at the link below:

Once again Maria, Gavin and I, with the support from the NHS Midlands Office, we have gone the extra mile to put together a fantastic event with the best speakers across the UK and the good news is that Tommy has decided to come back to East Midlands. At 6csy he had all of us in tears but because of the tight agenda he didn’t have enough time to show his videos and photograph. On this occasion we will have all the time necessary to do his full talk. Please bring plenty of tissues.

The event is free. The only requirement is to wear something green to reflect the colours of NHS Change Day and to bring a battery operator torch.
After 18h we will gather at the University of Derby main hall, were following this year theme "Lighting up the country", we will proceed to switch off all the lights in preparation for attendees to light up the sky with their torches as a symbolic resignation of our passion for wanting to make a difference.
The places are limited. First come first serve. Hurry up book yourself a place now before is too late.
