Self Management Week 2014 - "doing good does you good " - ways to get involved

The ALLIANCE is looking forward to celebrating this year’s Self Management Week which will take place the week beginning Monday 29th September.
The aim of the week is to promote Self Management throughout Scotland: what it is, how it works in practice and how it benefits those living with long term conditions. Self Management Week 2014 will draw on the My Condition My Terms My Life campaign, the Self Management Impact Fund projects, and other self management work that is happening across the Third Sector, Health and Social Care.

Volunteering

Last year we celebrated throughout the week the theme of physical activity. With Scotland hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and 15,000 people volunteering as Clyde-siders during the games we follow on nicely to the theme of volunteering for 2014.
The Self Management Campaign is part of Legacy 2014and volunteering your time provides a superb pathway to learning, training and employment as well as a great tool to self-management provoking increased skills, self-esteem and well-being.
